The bed on my 2001 3500 is pretty trashed and needs to be replaced. I found a used bed that's off of a 1997 or earlier truck. Does anybody know if there are any issues with bolting this bed up to my truck? I'll have to change the body moldings and paint it, but that's fine with me...

BTW, the bed I'm looking at is also from a 3500...

Thanks!

Crash book P/N's

Rob, I have a copy from a autobody crash estimating book, and according to the book, the box has the same part number from 94-01(for a 3500). The part number I have listed is: 48825 70AB. List price-$8600:eek:  Hope this helps and is accurate.

Thanks John! That's just what I needed.

But... another one bites the dust. Get this... it's a '97 bed, and it's missing the dually fender on the passenger side (which is fine since my pass-side fender is still good). So here we have a five year old bed that's been sitting in somebody's back yard for who knows how long, missing a fender, and they want $1800 for it!!! You've gotta be kidding me.

I've seen new take-off beds listed in the classifieds for far less than that, and I've also seen used ones that need paint in the $600-1000 range.

Oh well, I'll just keep waiting. Eventually, I'll either find one for a price I'm willing to pay, or somebody will hit me and their insurance can repair or replace my existing bed. :)

Call a utility bed company.......

I bought mine from the stealer with the utility bed on but know it was shipped with a regular dually bed. They must take a lot off as the cab and chassis's aren't available in QC. They probably have deals worked out with body shops but it might be worth a try.
