Will a 3rd gen bumper fit a 2nd gen?

Wondering if anybody knows the differences in the 2nd and 3rd gen bumpers. I like the 3rd gen style and would like to try and adapt one to my 2nd gen (mines dinged up pretty good and I need a new one anyways), but I know the frames and body lines are different. Anybody got any suggestions?

The bolt spacing on my 99 is different from my 2003.

Thanks for the info, but do you know how hard it would be to make an adapter piece to bolt up or if it could be done ?

Once you figured out the bolt spacing problem you'd probably still have fitment problems. With the countours of the body being different between the 2nd and 3rd gen Rams it would probably look goofy. But then some of us aren't too picky about looks



If I was in your spot I'd look for an aftermarket bumper designed for the 2nd gen, probably about the same price or a bit more but a heckuva lot stronger and take more of a beating.
