fuel to get in the oil? I noticed my lift pump will not prime at all anymore. The lever has next to no resistance when you push it. Yes, I have made sure it is not on a lobe. Tonight I changed my oil and there was way too much in there since last week when I checked it and it was way to thin. :--)

Does anyone know the Cummins part # for one and how much they run?

Also the lack of fuel pressure to the VE, would this by chance be the cause of my truck running hot when running hard or pulling?

Thanks, Bill

I have a fleet of these engines at the school, have never had to replace a mechanical pump. The ISB is another story  I also oil sample all units for just this reason. [coolant and wear metals] Can't help you here. If you'r getting large quantities in oil, and the engine still runs well, this would be a good place to start.

The school is undergoing some changes so I can'tget on there in my office, otherwise I could give the part no. If no one helps out here pm me and I'll get it.

No, it wouldn't make it operate hot. Possibly be low on power and starved for fuel {like the ISB} but can't imagine hot.
