Will a bone stock motor produce more than 30 psi of boost?

I want to get the new Isspro 30 psi gauge from Geno's, but I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to tell what my max boost pressure is because the gauge won't register high enough. I read an article (I think in the latest TDR issue) that said boost on an 04. 5 stock truck was just under 30 psi. But then I see posts here that say guys are seeing well over 30 on their stock trucks. Does anyone know for sure what I should expect? (I have no plans to ever modify my motor so I won't need the 60 psi gauge in the future. )

I say (from experience) get the 60 psi guage

1) you NEVER know if you will bomb in 5 years

2) the mechanical guages are most accurate in the middle (I heard)

So the 60 PSI guage should be more accurate at 30psi then the 35psi guage that is close to maxed out

PS - I have an extra Autmeter "ultra-lite" 35 psi guage if you are interested -- I as put before I would have never guessed I would need a 60psi guage!!

My 04. 5 600 completely stock spiked to 34psi and would sustain 28-32psi boost on WOT. I have 60psi boost for this reason.

On average my truck will run at around 6 pounds of boost on flat steady ground. Moderate hill runs up to 10-12.

What JVolpe said. I have been able to spike about 32 lbs WOT up hill, and sustain in the mid-20s. These trucks run high boost, and hot EGTs right from the factory.

I have seen 32 psi on the new IssPro gage. The 0-60 gage is easy to read and works great.

I installed a 60 psi guage on my wife's truck and in staock mode, seems like it maxed out at 28 psi.

Mine also goes to a little over 32 pounds stock. My X-Monitor stores the max values so you can look at it later. Normal cruising around 70 mph empty 6-8 pounds.

Ive pegged my 35PSI out more times than I can cound and I'm bone stock. . . except some hacking on the intake down tube, air box and silercer ring :D

I bought the DC Service Manuals when I got my 2003. I don't remember the page number but when a DC Tech checks the boost, it should max out at 23-27 PSI. That's on a 2003. I've never seen more than 27 out of mine and it runs about 10-12 at 70 MPH. Just a thought... .

I run about 6 psi cruising empty at 70. Before the mileage reflash my guage would spike to 32 and settle at 28. After the reflash it will sustain 34 psi until

I back out of it. Truck is stil stock witk 32K on it now. I have the 60psi DiPricol

guage.
