We keep our boat in a storage facility as it's too big for our garage. The owner is going to build another building next to the building where our boat is stored. (Currently there is no building next door to the building where our boat is stored in. Life is good. )

He places the buildings on his property very close together. Since the boat and truck combo is soooo long and the truck's turning radius is so big, there's going to be no way to maneuver the rig into the stall once the new building goes up.

Would a front mount hitch help out in this situation? I would think I'd gain some maneuverability with it.

Tim,

It'll most definitely help you manuever your trailer into tight spots. But beware of the weight limitation of a front mounted receiver hitch and compare that against the tongue weight of your boat trailer. They won't carry much weight.

I have a boat that barely fits between my house and a plumb tree. I struggled getting the boat in and out and finally dropped the cash for an electric trailer dolly. This thing saved my marriage and my neighbors no longer run away when they see me coming back from a day of fishing on the ocean. I got the powermover brand.

Is it big enough to move a travel trailer? I've seen similar units, but they were for moving relatively small trailers with low tongue weights.

I know what you mean by the neighbors running and saving your marriage. I slammed the door so hard on my old 97 that the glass broke in the door. Where I park the trailer is a "it's in" or drive back down the street, around town, stop for dinner, and come back and try again!
