New guy here... not new to diesels, but new to 12V motors.

I have the opportunity to pick a reasonably priced 6 speed manual transmission from a 2006 2wd truck. Will this transmission bolt to the older motor?

I will need to find a flywheel as mine is currently an automatic.

The G56 bell housing must be removed from the trans from inside the trans - so I have been told. Also the input shaft is 1 3/8 inch but if you need a flywheel that should not be a problem. I would suggest you call Blumenthals and Standard Trans and they should be able to help you out.

G56 bell housing is integral to transmission case, not a removable part. South Bend Clutch has single mass flywheel & clutch package to make it all work.

On the left is the 2008 G56. On the right a 2003 NV5600. The trans adapter is the black thing on the front of the trans. The transfer case fits on the both.

The shifter hoe need to be moved back

The floor needs a bit of minor work,. Cut the seam back and pound the hump up a bit.

The "bump" needs to be cut off

<a href="http://s447.photobucket.com/albums/qq195/shadrach1984/G56%20Trans%20in%20a%201st%20gen%20Dodge%20CTD/?action=view&amp;current=DSCN0908.jpg" target="_blank">#ad
</a>

We also ordered some other parts from Dodge

You won't have to do all this as yours is a 2WD auto but I thought I would include the info for others. Shad
