I recently upgraded my fuel lines to the braided SS and removed my banjo bolts, replacing same with Aeroquip elbows. My SPA sender is now post OEM filter, but would still like to have another gauge to moniter lift pump pressure pre-filter, call me crazy. I don't want another electric gauge so I figured I'd go mechanical for this application. I know that you are 'adivised' to use a isolator when running with a mechanical gauge in the cab, otherwise they indicated that it should be an outside install. Do they mean on the exterior of the truck, such as near the windshield? Would a gauge, such as the Auto Meter Ultra lite, be able to withstand the punishment of the elements in winter? Or do they mean an outside install, under the hood? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have a hard time seeing a gauge withstanding a harsh winter or summer, without developing fog issues, etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this. I'm really not too worried in regards to the 'readability factor', it's just to keep an eye on the lift pump psi's @ idle. Thanks in advance !!!!

You can use Autometer gauges outside your truck on the hood or windshield cowling with no problems. I had 2 fuel pressure and a Nitrous Pressure gauge on my Trans Ams hood lip for 3 years in rain and snow. When you tighten the gauge cup it seals the back of the gauge. Moisture wont hurt them. Look in any Hot rod magazine, you will see lots of cars set up that way. Nothing to worry about.
