I had the trans flashed... I had the new solenoids put in..... I tried the APPS reset by disconnecting the batteries and doing the pedal thing... . I AM ABOUT TO SHOOT MY TRUCK. I love the truck, but after all of those "fixes" the truck still lugs(RPM'S) bump up and down when i go about 35-40 mph. It even does it when i keep the OD off. WHAT is the fix????????????I can spend the dough... I just need to know:mad:

I think your referring to the "lock & unlock" of the torque converter under light load conditions. The speed you have indicated is the window of "error" where you would notice this.

You need to look up a TDR member named Scott Hendren, he has an inexpensive kit that will most likely alleviate this problem. You can PM him and he's very good at following through.

The problem exists in many auto CTD's there is electrical hash noise being imposed on your APPS lines from the ECU within the big wiring harness. The 100 pin connector on the ECU... . you will find pin 25 and 31 of interest. This is your DC and signal line from the ECU to the APPS. The pins of the APPS are 5 and 3.

All of the factory stuff you have been through has been reported back to not help the syndrome... . you have also contributed to that analogy.

PM Scott... . I bet your pleased with what you discover.

TDR kicks a$$ for info;)

DTT also has a noise filter that "should" alleviate the problem you have. I have been unhooking my bateries and resetting every 2 weeks. I have already done the grounds cleaning and adding the ECM & PCM extra grounds. When it started it again this time I installed the kit from DTT without unhoooking the batteries and resetting the APPS and my problems have vanished. (knock on wood)

I have a DTT transmission and I still get the transmission switching gears at 45 mph's if I'm not accelerating, so for my cure, I just keep it out of OD 'till 50 mph's.

:--) I bought scotts wiring on ebay- but like an idiot did not put it in yet... . IT WILL GO IN TODAY!!!! thanks alot to all that answered. I LOVE TDR!

Same here! I've added the nosie filter from DTT, had the transmission serviced, reseated the battery terminals and the problem has just resurfaced today after 3 months of smooth running.

Definitely would like to try Scotts kit!!!!!!

I had the same problem I changed my trans with DTT upgrades ans still had the trouble . IT was the ECM after that was replaced by Dealer under the 8/80 rules for emission parts I no longer had a problem for the last 2 years. Check for trans threads you will see what I went trough. Best of luck. I now have a Suncoast trans but that had nothing to do with the lock unlock problem. It was broken output shafts and they just had a better warranty thats was the only reason for the change. I make 450 HP with 900 lbs of torque at the rear wheels at this time and run a good 13. 4 in the 1/4 mile at @ 98 mph in the traps.

New batteries can help also. Make sure the battery terminals are very clean. Also check the ground. My 98. 5 did it intermittently. Usually for one day a year or so.

I have not been able to locate shendrens kit on ebay. Does anybody have a link to it? I thought I read that he bought a Ford. Is he still selling the kit?
