Guess the title says it all just ordered a rokktech crank sensor and was thinking of getting an aftermarket torque converter to help with the mpg not going to do any more mods on the truck. Was also wanting to know if I have to go with that triple disk one or if I could use something less expencive. I don't pull much with it and if I do it is a racecar on an open trailer.

One of my friends has that sensor on an 03 auto 4x4 and gets 19-20 mpg around town with a dunrite converter with a stall speed around 16-1700 rpm. You don't need to lock it up early if it stalls that low. Also it wears the bands much faster if it shifts locked-up.

He also did some re-valving to handle the lower rpm.

One problem with only doing the convertor, is that it is able to transfer the power better to the transmission. But if the line pressure isn't turned up, you run a better chance of slipping the transmission. I could slip my stock transmission at stock power.

A single disc will be just fine if you stay close to stock power. I have the triple because of the low speed towing that I do.
