Hey everyone,

Know that I have got the transmission done I can use the power of my box a little more. Next problem, the powers there but so are the EGT's. My poor little HX35 12 cm has no problem pegging 35 psi in about 3 second from a stop light with the FMS box mildly cranked (above 50%) EGT's are now an issue with just 275's and the current ambient temps here in good ole Colorado. Would an EZ piggybacked in decrease my EGT's substantially? How about a 14 or 16 cm housing?

I don't know anything about the characteristics of the FMS box, so this is just a guess. I would expect EGTs to go up if you add another box on top of the one you already have, regardless of it being an FMS box, but I could be entirely wrong. As I said, I don't know how the FMS behaves.

If you can borrow an EZ, maybe try it alone, temporarily disconnecting the FMS to see if going with an EZ alone might get what you need in decreased EGTs.

if the FMS box a fueling box only? in that case, a timing box may help your egt's. i know some that run the ez piggybacked with a tst powermax 3 to get timing. just not familiar with the fms.

Yep, the FMS is strictly fueling. With the TST 3 anyone know how much decrease in EGT's one might get with a EZ piggybacked?

Probaby not enough to make you happy. I had a Power Edge 3 position box (the fist edge fuleing box) and when I put an EZ on with it it droped my EGT maybe 50 degrees. I think you need to look at a bigger turbo. . or less fuel. Some say the DD2's run cooler than 275's heheh leading you down the path. . :D

I'd also try a higher reading boost gauge. More than 35psi will not help your performance or EGT. You may need to make adjustments to keep from over boosting the hx35.

I did.

Dont need a higher reading boost gauge, the FMS has a built in digital gauge it goes as high as the psi can. I think this looks like its turbo time once again. The word twins just sounds so appealing.

My mistake. "Pegging" usually indicates maximum travel or readout of a needle-type gauge. Some of them have little pegs that stop the movement at upper and lower extremes.

So you weren't really "pegging" now were you?:D

The Exhaust will help a little if it is 4" or larger but for a good drop in EGT's get a PDR-HX-40-16. I just installed mine tonight and it is already helping me a bunch in the EGT are. EGT's are the reason I bought this turbo from a fellow member. (PDR is on like a 2 week wait for one right now) or at least a week or so ago they were. You will need a turbo eventually with your amount of fueling so might as well do it now! It is an investment that will yield great returns. Just my $. 02 Dan
