2001 B2500 W/Auto transmission towing slow

I can't get a straight answer from the dealers as to whether I will have to modify the trailer springs on a Mountain Aire 5th wheel. I have a 3500 4X4 and am concerned about pulling a level trailer. Dealers say the hitch pin is adjustable. Has anyone out there actually pulled one of these and can answer my concern? Really appreciate some reliable information.

I have had a number of Newmar products. Yes, the hitch on the trailer is adjustable and the 5th wheel hitch is adjustable. Remember, you want atleast a hand width between the top of the bed rail and the coach. The bigger the hand the better. (5 to 6 inches) Most Mountain Aires ride high to begin with. Use at least a 15K hitch. Preferably a Reese "Classic". If your unit is over that, go to the "Classic" 20K. If you need more info, hollar and I will try to help. Happy Camping... .....

Millfli, take some measurements of your truck ie. bed rail height and bed height and remember the truck may sit down a bit- compair the height with the fifth- most rigs are parked pretty level on the lot- on almost all pin boxes are adjustable up or down- yes a hand width min. more is better- I've had two different rigs and trucks repaired because the 5th hits the bed- one was in the dealers driveway #ad

Lucky- haven't had to fix my dodge yet #ad

Flipping your axels is about an afternoon job- not hard-- good luck

Thanks a lot for the advice folks. As I have neither hitch or trailer yet (delivery in June) I will take your word that everything will work out. Good to know.
