I want to take out the factory head unit and replace with another Pioneer stereo that I've had for awhile. This is my question..... will I lose my Sirius satellite radio, or does it actually go through the Sirius box behind the glove box? If it goes through the Sirius box behind the glove box, then I should be able to send the signal to my Pioneer. Anyone know?

By the way, what's involved in stereo removal on an '06 w/o navigation? TIA.

I think you can replace the radio w/aftermarket one but am not sure. You can look it up in the factory manual for R&R. If you do not have one, it can be downloaded HERE.

Is the box behind your glove box an actual sirius receiver? If so you could use any head unit that has an input for satelite radio. I am entertaining the same thing, but I just picked up my new truck on Thursday and haven't had time to rip the dash apart to see what is actually there.

You need a SAT ready radio. The box will do you no good unless the head unit can handle the information sent from it. In other words the SAT box sends information to the head unit rather then an audio signal...

If you get a SAT ready head unit I believe you can transfer your subscription to the new unit. I am not so sure about the Free year you get from DODGE. I know that if you payed for the year you can move it to a new radio...

I hope that helps...
