OK.

What should I buy first, what will it cost?

As of now my truck is as it is in my sig. I have my Comp box sitting on my desk beside me.

I'm not going to put it on until the warranty is up (about 15,000 mi. )

How important is a fuel system upgrade (FASS probably) to the life of my VP once the Comp is on? I really don't want to have to pay for one out of pocket. I know the clutch won't handle it, it tries to slip when I get on it already.

-What will the FASS cost for my application?

-Which clutch should I buy and what should I expect to pay?

Please keep in mind that injectors will be added shortly after the FASS and Comp and I would like for the clutch I buy to handle the power I will be making with some to spare, and still be reliable, this is my daily driver.

Thanks a lot in advance,

R. J.

I run mach 2's and a comp without any fuel mods. I did upgrade all the system to -8 an lines and fittings. This helps tremendously, I see hardly any fuel pressure drop and can't pull it under 13 psi. I idel at 15 or a little over. I see no reason for fuel system upgrades, but thats just my opinion. My first LP lasted 45k, I'll spend 140 bucks every 2 years or so for a fuel pump.

I have a CON FE southbend clutch, it ran 1300 or so installed with a flywheel grind. Great clutch, holds superbly. I tow with it also, it's a little chattery when you heat it up, gives incentive for backing up right the first time!

I have a new lift pump relocation setup that just takes factory pump of the side of engine and places it near the tank it also utilizes 1/2" tubing so it is a big line kit. Kit includes wiring harness extension, 1/2" fittings, Frame mount, Fuel hose and clamps. You can see some pictures of it on my website it works well and won't burn up all your bombing funds

This is sounding good. Basically turning the factory lift pump into a pusher. The only reason I'm considering spending this much now on a fuel system is because I know how lift pumps like to fail and with my luck once the warranty is up I'll probably kill one every month. I'd just rather be sure that I'm getting the volume the VP needs all the time for ever and ever until death do us part. And I'm planning on some pretty big injectors and some twins in the future too.

Oh well, we'll see how everything pans out in the next few months when the warranty is close to done.

Thanks,

R. J.
