I have a 1996 4x4 5-speed (215 hp) with a #11 plate in the stock position. The truck has a LUK pro gold clutch with about 100k highway miles. It has never slipped. Although a couple of times I thought it did because it engages at the very top of the pedal movement and I had a little foot pressure on the pedal when I launched. I don't believe it really slipped because If I really shift hard in the upper gears I get no indication that its slipping.

Anyway,

1) If I go to a set of 370 or DDIII injectors do you think my clutch will hold?

2) What do you think my horsepower level is now?

3) What do you think it will be with the new injectors?

4) Will my EGTs be managable?

I am just want more power without having to do the clutch. That can come later. When I put the Pro Gold in there wasn't a lot of other proven options. My truck has 225K and I don't think I will ever get tired of it!

It'll hold just fine,

As long as you don't get on it hard at below 1900 rpm. I had the #11 in before on my 96 5spd and made about 275hp. With the 300 injectors and 5" exhaust I made 340hp. Depending on where you slide your plate I would guess the 370s will put you at around 340hp with stock turbo and exhaust. Your clutch will hold just fine. My Luk Pro Gold is still holding fine at over 400hp. However I can NOT ever!!! get on it hard below 2000 rpm,It'll slip then. I have pulled my 15,500 lb 5wheel at over 400hp for 1-1/2yrs. with no problems. But I have Piers' gov. spring kit and make my shifts at 3500rpm while towing. When I shift, the rpms. in the next gear are about 2000 rpm. At 2350 rpm I was still dynoing at 970# torque. As long as I keep the revs. up I can give it full throttle under load without slippage .

Garry.

Edit, I just realized My signature is too long to post

now, click on my profile to see the mods I have

done and the clutch is still holding.

What Garry Verheyden said. Mine would slip at 1700/1800rpm when the boost hit 28 below that no slip. or above the 2000rpm level.

I can hear you chirp them tires when you leave work. :D About those 215 injectors you have. I don't plan on bombing my motor. I plan on getting rid of mine soon I as I find something else. I'm looking for 97-98 12 valve excab longbox. When if I find one then the bombing starts.

Later Jeff.
