PSulivan,

That is a totally SICK (In a good way) conversion! Please keep posting pictures, and keep us informed of your progress.

On your question of frame strenght, I have installed 350 chevy's in two Toyota trucks, an '81 and an '84. The 81 was kind of a learning process, but worked okay - low power. The '84 had about 300 horsepower. The first time we got on it, and it hooked up, the left front wheel came off the ground, and never touched down again! So, from my experience with similar HP, but much less torque, and less weight, the stock frame was not up to the task - when being abused.

Other things I learned, were: The cooling system needed significant upgrading. The braking was scary because it was so fast, and needed to be upgraded as well. These items were obvious right from the start. I never got to any "long term" evaluations.

It was still a lot of fun.

 WOW!!! talk about making some other toyota owners jealous not to mention go :--) when you take off from a traffic light...

I have to say thats the only way i would own a toyota with a lift kit, alot of pple around here have those things jacked up and i can only imagine what those bigger tires and extra weight is doing to their driveline...

KEEP US POSTED ON THIS ONE

no intercooler yet. radiator is in the bed. the 6spd shifter lined right up with the factory hole in the floor. its actually 1. 5" from the firewall. (engine) i had to cut the core support. :)

My 93 will be 4bt/nv5600 driven when I get out of school, you just wait, single 4" stack out the passenger side and people going "WTF was that?"

Looks like you got at least "one more" weekend of work in front of you before it is ready for the road. :D :D

Don't forget to install the serpentine belt and the headlight wiring ;)

Drive shaft wouldn't hurt either :)
