Truck Camper Loading

My truck had a slide in camper information sheet tucked in with the owners manual. It's called "Consumer Information Truck-Camper Loading". It's printed in red and has the vin number, the safe cargo capacity of my truck as well as the safe load C/G range for slide in campers.

My truck is a regular cab, cargo weight rating is 2806lbs forward limit of camper C/G is 63" measure from rear of bed and rearward limit of camper C/G is 25" from rear of truck bed.

If you like I can scan it and send it to you, just send me an email.

An early first gen owner that I know, used to run a rather large slide in camper on his 89, he claimed weighed in at over 3000lbs. He added air bags onto the rear axle mainly just to level the truck out, travelled across Canada several times with no problems.

Would suggest that you could just weigh the truck and camper and check the GVW and axle weights and if these are within what is marked on the tag on the door frame you should be ok. I think the given maximum cargo weight is rather concervative given the GVW less dry weight allows for almost 4000lbs of cargo, fuel and passengers.

Hope this helps,

Neil :D
