2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Will newer light switch with fog light switch fit my 98 Dodge Ram?

I was wondering if a light switch out of a 1999 or newer light switch would fit in my 1998 12 valve truck? My early 1998 has the quad body like newer versions. I want to install front off road lights and thought the dual combo light switch would be great instead of a toggle in the dash. My 2001 Durango has similar type.

Anybody ever do this? Thanks, Herb

Nope. I wanted to do the same thing. They look like they might be similar size from the visible side, but the old switch like you have in your '98 contains actual full current contacts. The new ones don't actually turn on the lights, they tell a computer to do it.

Not my intent to steal the thread... ... . but I'm a newbie with a 2003, WANTING TO BUY, factory Hella fog/driving lamps, hardware and the switch to swap out mine... .

Herb... . I remember reading somewhere that the fog light switch for our '98 trucks went where the air bag shut off is and you can buy that switch and put it in there and switch them with that. The wiring and plug is even there and just tucked away IIRC.
