Hi all, in the mornings my 47re will not shift, when in drive or shifting it manually. All the posts I have read say it is the speed sensor, but there is a catch, When my trans warms up to about 125*, on my gauge, then it starts to shift normal. I don’t know if the others drove theirs long enough for that to happen, takes about 10min. I can change the speed sensor but if you have any other ideas please let me know.

Thats usually a problem with the gov pressure solenoid and\or transducer. If you check your governor pressures cold and hot you may have a better idea whats going on there.

You know, I really hate it when someone asks for help, finds the problem then doesn't post the fix. So imagine my surprise and embarrassment when I read my post in this 1/4s magazine about this 1st gear problem. I fixed it then had to go out of town and forgot all about it, sorry. It was the gov pressure solenoid/transducer not sure which or both? I just changed them both and it now works. This is a great resource for us and I want to help as much as I get help.
