I'm working on a permanent tap for my fuel pressure gauge and need to know if standard automotive fuel hose will work with diesel fuel. Its in the transfer pump circuit so pressures will be no more than 15 lbs.
The factory has a rubber hose joint in the line between the filter and the I-pump and it looks like standard fuel hose to me.

Standard fuel hose is for diesel too. Just don't get diesel on your radiator/heater hoses. It eats em up and soon you'll have coolant coming out little pin holes #ad

FWIW, I replaced the fuel return line on the 95 in Nov. 99. When I started having hard start problems in Dec. 2000, I knew it wasn't the return line. It was. When I changed it out, it looked the same as the one I changed out a year ago. I had made the mistake of going to the local parts house and asking for fuel line for diesel and trusted there judgement.

On the second repair, after researching past post, I found a spec for fuel lines that Joe D. had posted. Don't recall the numbers but it turned out to be a type fuel line used in high pressure fuel injection systems.

I'd suggest searching for the info and not buying generic fuel line.

Dane, keep in mind that rubber hose will expand and contract with pressure changes, so you might not get a very accurate pressure reading. I wonder if nylon tubing would hold up, you know like the kind you get with a boost pressure gauge? Is nylon impervious to diesel fuel?

Unfortunately I can't give you a solid answer. I have run across fuel hose that is not recommended for gasoline, but is fine for Diesel. . I've NEVER seen the reverse.
So my answer would be to look for hose that is compatible with Gasoline and you'll be fine.
