will removing muffler lower EGT's

Finally got my piro hooked up. didnt know that the exhaust temps could move that fast #ad
. empty I can get it up to 1100° if I goose it. I dont know what it will do towing. its at 750° at 75MPH and 500° at 55 MPH. do these number sound normal? will the temps go down is I remove the muffer??

Any way you can get more hot exhaust gasses away from you engine will lower EGT's. So removing your muffler will lower them

Which flows more easily: stock with muffler removed, or 4" with muffler? Curious for now.

Even better, how about a 4" with no muffler?. I have a 4" exahaust now and i will be removing my muffler next week hopefully so i will let you know if i see an even bigger drop in EGT

Tom, removing the muffler lowered my EGT by about 50-75*, so yes it does lower them but not a lot.
Ray, good question, my guess would be a 4" with even a marginal free flow will flow more than a 3" straight pipe and a 4" with a good muffler will outflow a 3" straight very easily.
