Well, I tried everything today and to no avail. Tried the following...

full positive caster both sides = Right pull got worse?

full negative caster on the left side = least right pull but some what twitchy.

1/2* positive left side and full positive right = best of both worlds but still pull right enough to exit the freeway by itself.

Oh Yeah, rotated the tires twice just to prove that it wasn't radial pull which I still think is a lame a$$ excuse...

I give up...

Gypsyman - Mine never pulled that hard, just enough that you had to keep a finger on the wheel, and from the factory the wheel wasn't centered either.

Great stuff. Time to dust off the torque wrench and see about that pull to the right. Plus, it's just a good idea to check it periodically anyhow. Don't wait to find out you have a front end problem until you're loaded to the gills driving at highway speeds at night.

I am very sensitive to anything happening after the DW incidents so it may be nothing

:D I hear ya. Usually takes about a week before you drive with one hand on the wheel again  Several months until you no longer cringe while driving over potholes or grab wheel with both hands when the highway gets a little shakey. Glad you found your Gremlin. Give it a couple weeks and let us know how it's going with the DW cure.

My 2002 with new Goodyears (235/85r16) pulls to the left. I just bought the truck but I noticed that the old tire on the drivers side was feathered really bad on the outside edge of the tire. What are your suggestions?

I will start by saying go to the second gen forum for answers on your 02, besides that could be a bad wheel bearing, they aren't cheap! New tires and an alignment might be a good start.

Added my T-Rex progressive front springs last week which added about 2" in height. Did it at my favorite front-end and brake shop. Caster went negative at the increase in height and the cam had to be adjusted to get back between 4 and 5 degrees positive (bottom of spindle ahead of center line). Most rigs are set positive. My Monaco MH had to be set negative (like a swivel dolly wheel) for it to track. I have always thought the death wobble was a caster issue and glad to find the loose cam syndrome. Thanks for your contribution Dieselman. George

Just a little clarification. Caster, while not directly affecting tire wear (i. e. , caster is not a "tire-wear" angle in and amongst itself), will most certainly have an effect on toe, which is a tire wear angle. Caster and camber are both set first in an alignment, with toe set last, due to the fact that both of the former angles affect toe.

Thanks I'll try the other for forum. I'm new to this site. I do have new tires and the truck was just aligned but it appears to me after about 5k miles that the driver side tire is wearing more on the outside edge.

Thanks,

Jimmy
