Will the 03-04 lift pump update(fuel module) fit in the 05 tank?

I had to drop my tank to check for dirt(I was curious after hearing all the tank horror stories) and broke the return line nipple off the fuel module I fixed it for now with epoxy, but wondered if the 03-04 update module will fit in the 05 tanks. I found one for sale on E-bay brand new for a killer deal and thought if it worked I would pick it up as a spare incase my epoxy job breaks. I don't want to be stranded. Thanks, Jason... .

I just lost my lift pump while in San Diego, two weeks ago with slightly over 56,000 miles on the truck. Was towed to local Dodge Dealer and it was replaced with the updated lift pump. All this was done under warranty which tells me the lift pump is part of the diesel engine system warranty. It did cost me two hours of labor to drop my after market Transfer Flow 56 gal fuel tank but the pump was covered. Until you hit 100K miles, I wouldn't worry about it.

I'd check your in-tank-module before you bought one off of eBay. Here's a pic of the stock '03 module (not the updated one with the lift pump in the tank). Notice the top of the unit is much different in the way it's secured in the tank.

That sucks, does anyone out there have a bad fuel module (lift pump fried)from an 05/06? I can put my lift pump in a different module housing. Thanks, Jason...
