I was just wondering about the difference in smoke between the DD2's and BD4's. I would be running these with a drag comp and HX40 in addition to what I already have. Will I be able to cut down on the smoke by keeping the box turned down/off when driving around town? Also, if I do go with the BD4's, will the HX40 be big enough? Thanks,

Adam

Smoke

If you keep your left foot out of it,it shouldn't smoke too much. I hav BD3s and an hx/35,i only get a little smoke under no boost, after boost starts to build everything clears up unless i plant my foot on the floor. Keep the box on low settings and you wont get hardly any smoke.

Its going to smoke quite a bit down low,and off boost. It will take much longer to clear the smoke, you likey wont clear it all in hot weather on drag mode. I would say they are streetable,BUT you need to dirve the truck much more gently now,you can hot rod around town, where as before you could nail it at will and just a touch of smoke, now you wont be able to play around.

That's what the sub-levels are for on the box--big injectors.

With the DD version, sub-levels 1, 2, and 3 defuel and delay the onset of fueling. You should be able to set power levels 1-4 to "in town" smoke levels and leave 5 for KILL, or even cut 5 back to what you can stand on the pyro.

Or just ship me the 4's and don't worry nun about it. :D

Your smoke will not be noticeable with the box turned off, even with the Comp on you will not smoke much if you are light on the throttle.

on vs. off

According to Keith, a DD box can reduce your smoke MORE than if you turn it off. Maybe the PE version won't go that low. TRY IT!

And good catch Tim, a stock auto will be what you're smoking!
