Will you lose updates by Disconnecting Battery?

Was in the dealer today getting my steering wheel replaced (it was peeling) and they had my battery disconnected to keep air bag from deploying. Will I lose the updates that may have been programmed into it?

if your tallking about the engine computer and any 'flashes' to it, they will not be lost.
