Competition Drag Racing. Shift from 4 to 2wd????

Competition Texas Red Rocket goes 11.77

Saturday, the 2nd I believe, Willmington, Ohio had a decent sized pull. Our truck busted in the no adapter plate class (front shaft and possibly transfer case :( ) in a class of 37. We spent the rest of the night loading the truck and then we caught the single turbo and small twin class. At about 1:45 we left and didn't get to catch the open class, which among others included Dave Mitchell, the Haisley Machine, and Sheids. I heard through the grapevine that Dave caught fire and Shieds won. Does anyone have full details?

Sounds like Kent Crowder from Scheid Diesel won the Open.

NO SUPRISE THERE!! CONGRATS!!

I read it was a 380ft' pull, on DTR.

Anyone have the full run down?

I wasnt able to make it because i was in the field but i heard Kent's truck tried to run away at the end till he tripped the air shutoff. Matt

Kent Crowder 380 something with some hung plungers  made for an exciting second at the the end of the track

2nd Terry Martin 355

3rd Van Haisley 353

Not sure about the rest fo the order but i think it was

Dave mitchell 330 something, cought fire at the end of the track  he had to put the fire out himself

then i believe it was eric stacey

then eric stingley

Great pull very hard track with lots of breakage

Travis

Stingley then Stacey. I get them mixed up all the time too. Terry's truck ran good but needed more traction, Van's truck looked like it was going to launch into outer space, but didn't break, Dave's truck sounded er... ... for a lack of a better word SCARY! untill the big bang and popping at the end of the track which resulted in a pretty bad engine oil fire. And what can I sey about Kent but CONGRATS! I was amazed the pump lasted for three seasons without any problems, it's not like hanging a plunger is unheard of anyway. Thats why we have safety equipment like air shutoffs.

I feel sorry for the masses that broke stuff on the track and the rest that are just finding out.

It was a very Long night The pull started late, the gasser pukes were not lined up and ready as the rest of the pullers, fair amount of carnage through out the night, the lights went out for 20mins or so, lots of trucks made for a really long pull. I left Willington about 3 am headed for home. There is an Official RULE change From now on the "street" or "Stock" turbo class will NOW be Known as the Dmax class as they will rule the class as long as they show up.

The other two classes were won by 24V TRUCKS!!!! and the open class you have already heard the stats.

What? No more "Goat Show?" :(

What a pull almost 40 trucks in the street class and almost as many turcks in the open than Schieds Extavaganza, that was really a bad deal seeing Daves truck catch fire twice, Justin where were you I tried to call but couldnt get through.

Got a new cell phone, I'll PM you the number.

And HAD to work that night.

What a bummer, I knew it would be one of the best pulls of the year if not the best.

I forgot to say GOOD JOB!! to the DMZ folks for doing a good job of tech inspections. They looked high and low on all the trucks I saw them tech.
