I'm wondering if the whip is all that can be removed when not in use, or can the coil also come off easily?

I'd like to be able to take it off to get in and out of the garage, but when I want to use it, not have to mess with any wires. That coil and stub looks pretty tall. It would be nice if all that could be stored with the whip.

Thanks

Wilson antenna

If you're referring to the base loaded antenna, the whip is 5ft long, and the whole coil assy w/whip is removable as a unit, and Wilson includes a cap to screw on the part that stays on the truck roof. You wouldn't want to remove just the whip anyway, as you would be re-setting SWR every time you removed/installed it. I have a Wilson on my truck, with an "export" radio, works like a charm.

ditto the above. mine comes off, the cap goes on and the truck goes in the car port with no prob's. car port, that is if I beat the cars home. .

I keep the cap in the console box so I can yank the Wilson if I have an unexpected visit to a parking garage, car wash or some other low hanging challenge.

Way cool, thanks.

I have 2 ordered actually -- One for each truck, but after I placed the order I wondered.....
