Do You Know What You're Getting For Christmas?

The new registration, hmm.

I cant tell you how my copy registered, because my copy is OEM. I can take my hard drive and put it in another computer and it wont give me any trouble. If you do the same with a upgrade version, it will say f^%$ you.

XP & DVD's?

Pre-release hype had it that XP includes a soft DVD decoder. No other software components required. Anyone confirm??

When I put a DVD in my XP Pro computer yesterday, it asked if I would like to play it with Media Player. I didn't try because I already have a DVD decoder that I got with the DVD drive. I guess I should try that tomorrow.

yes, it has a software decoder, you still need a dvd-rom drive to play the dvd's. No big deal really, almost all dvd-rom's come with some type of software decoder (win-dvd for example).

I wouldn't run anything less than 128. 256 would be better.

XP is a version on NT to a certain degree. It has plug and play and the look and feel of windows. But like NT, the more memory you throw at it, the better it runs.

Personally, I prefer dos 6. 0

Need help

I bought a new computer Sunday with win xp. I like it so far but I do have one thing that bothers me. When you have more than four or five windows open it puts them under one icon, Then you go to it and open them like the start button is there any way to get it to just cascade them along the bottom without filing them?? Thanks for the help.

I'm installing XP Pro right now

Hope it goes alright. The processor is a 450 P3 MMX, somewhere around 295megs of ram I think. Was

running ME. No major probs just wanted to try XP.
