Has anyone installed an electric winch on there 2nd gen rams.

I have a warn 8000 lb that I took off my 1st gen. It fit on that truck behind the front bumper with a custom bracket and the wire rope came out where the front lic. plate goes.

But looking at the 2ng gen It does not look like it will fit in the same spot. I want to bolt it directly to the frame and dont really want a winch bumber, or outside the bumper mounting system. Any experiences you may have on this would be appreciated.

Thanks !!!

WARN, make sa nifty kit for the Ford that moves the stock bumper out and provides fillers. Maybe with a little pressure from many users then will do it for the Dodge. Oh, forgot, they are now on third gen trucks. Lots of room up front on them "I think"! SNOKING

I don't know if this helps much but... .

I have a TJM bumper and a winch. The winch sets on a steel plate that fits between the front frame rails and against the cross-member. I have a 8000i warn that mounts lying on its back so it will fit there. The bumper sticks out a little farther from stock so you may need to move the bumper out more. You may not have to, since there may be enough room to have the winch setting farther back. You will need to find a place to mount the solenoid block.

I hope this helps some.
