With the warming spring weather I am reminded of one the the few small things I don't like about this truck. I like to drive around with the window open and enjoy the breeze just like a slobbering dog. With just the driver's window open there is a awful, low frequency buffeting rumble that hurts my ears and the ears of everybody else in the cab. I can play with opening different windows a little here to improve things a bit, and there but the sound never really goes away. I did not have this problem with my previous 2nd gen truck.

My question to anybody who will listen is: Will adding those Ventvisor things to the doors help get rid of this sound? I don't really care for the looks of the things, but I really miss driving with my window open.

Thanks for your helpful advise.

In my experience, it DOES change the sound, though does not eliminate it.
FYI, I feel that their true advantage is to be able to drive with the window(s) cracked in the winter/spring when it is raining out.

Since the 3rd gens are sealed well, I believe it is a vacuum affect created by opening just one window. I never roll down my window but just last week when I did @ 60 MPH I thought I would pop my ear drum from the "buffering" sound.

Sean, I have the power sliding rear window and if you open your slider along with the drivers window no low frequency buffeting rumble.

It happened to me with the sunroof open and windows partly open. It was so bad I though a helicopter was landing on the roof. Haven't heard it since and have installed large off road style visors.

I've always had the vent visor things on my trucks and have never noticed the wind buffeting. I have recently purchased a bone stock 04 and the wind buffeting is terrible. Going to be adding the vent shades as soon as they come in next week after I get the windows tinted. I've had an 03, 04 ,05 and two differerent 07s all but the 04 had/have vent visors and it is the only one that does it, so I guess they must help.
