window buffeting gone/surprised me

I partly opened all 4 windows, at about 40 mph, and was surprised that the usual wind buffeting was not there.



I had on one side, the front open about 3 inches, and the back about half way down. On the other side, the front about half way down, the back about 3 inches.



I switched sides, left/right, to check that it still works.



Then I tried one front fully open, the back half way, and on the other side, front half way, back fully open.



As long as two windows are half as much open as the other two, diagonally opposite, it seems to work.



It took me 4+ years to discover this!

I'm a smoker, but don't use the ashtray and use positive ventilation with the blower. I rarely have my blower below "3". It also helps to keep the driver rear window cracked 2-3 inches for air draw. I have visors on all 4 windows as well.

You can also run with both left windows all the way down or both right windows all the way down with no buffeting.
