I need a little help , can the switch be bypassed, if so what color are the wires for an 03 4 door. The driver side controls will work all the windows, just the ones on the other doors won't work,I figured the lock switch was all they had in common. The cost of the switch is over $100 an to get it checked out is $85. The kids are grown and the truck is here to stay so I'm not worried about the safety aspect. The truck only has 44xxx mi. , never spilt nothing in it cept maybe a little rain water. thanks for any info.

I have the same problem. If I play with the lock switch, sometimes the other up/down switches will work. But I would rather just over ride it all together. I do not have any kids, so that is not an issue for me right now. I hope someone can help us as it is very annoying.

Amazing, I have exactly the same problem!

Here's the relevant circuit diagram from the service manual. "YL" is the code for yellow insulation.

I haven't tried fixing mine yet. I rarely carry passengers, so it's rarely a problem. Plus I wasn't sure the lockout was the problem. Please let us know how it works out.

Be sure to run your bypass before splice S333, because that's where the other 3 doors take their signals.

not sure that is the problem,I don't have a book so I'm not sure where splice s333. is could you tell me where it is at. I would give it a try first before going to get one I found, a used one at a salvage yard for $35.

I'm not sure what the physical location of S333 is, but I suspect it's in the drivers side door. I just wanted you to be on the lookout for it, and if you find it make sure you do your work on the switch side of the splice.

C304 and C301 are connectors. C304 is obviously the connector to the switchblock in the door. I bet C301 is close to the interface between the door and the body. That would place S333 somewhere in the driver's door.

Given the simplicity of that switch, you could just replace it with a very small rocker switch. That's what I may do, when I get around to it.

I had the same Issue with my 03, but I didn't think it was related to the lock switch. Mine seem to come and go, when starting the truck. I did also had a broken bezel that held the module in place. When replacing the bezel I noticed the wiring harness was loose. I reseated the harness and its been fine.

did you guys try using compressed air to blow out the switch? I had this problem too and found that by cleaning the switch, the problem went away. The bypass does sound like a good idea though.

Take out the switch assembly, Drilll a 3/16" hole next to the lockout switch (very shallow only through the plastic).

Sprat the inside of the switch with electric contact cleaner while rocking the switches around. Blow out with some air and then give it a little shot of wd40.

Give that a try. It's worked for me on every switch I've done it to.

No need to take the switch apart either.

Well gents I tried both air and the hole with the contact cleaner, and no go. Has anyone figured out how to splice the wires to bypass the switch altogether?
