I'd appreciate step-by-step info on changing the outer weather seal on my '96 Ram window. The underlying metal is badly rusted, losing it's structural integrity. I'm afraid that when I attach my KcKesh mirrors, the seal will collapse. My initial question: Do I have to access this through the interior door panel, or can everything be done via the outer side (hope, hope, hope!). Thanks, fellows and ladies.

Had mine done under warranty, and took the tech less than 5 mins to do both sides,so I doubt you have to pull the door panel. Have done them on other vehicles, and they just pop right out. Held in by little clips that are part of the moulding. A little inward pressure, and pull straight up. Having the window down helps too.

Thanks so much for the info. My confidence is building! Now to the dealer to order the parts.

Dr JC

I just put them on last week.

Dealer list was ~$43 each. I got them for ~$33. The part numbers are:

55275504AC

55275505AC

Just roll the window down an pull them off.

Good luck.
