hey guys i bought one of those reservoir heaters for my windshield fluid from genos garage. . The direstions say to mount it after the pump but i didn't read that until i mounted it on my inner fender underneath my airfilter box. Now i'm guessing that the pump is located somewhere close to the windshield. Am i right or am i wrong? If i'm wrong where is it? The reason they said to mount it after the pump is because that thing will heat my fluid to a max of 175 degrees and it could possibly harm my pump after time with that hot of a fluid going through it. Will it harm my pump or am i ok with where i mounted it. Thanks guys. Oh yeah I have a 2005 4-door 3/4 ton ctd of course.

Well i just got off the phone with genos garage and he said that on all the older trucks, the pump is at the bottom of the reservoir bottle. Hes not sure about my 05 but he doesn't see why they would move it somewhere else.

I don't think they did. But 175*. That's quite a temp change on the windshield if the water makes it there that hot. Yowza. :--)

tell me about it. I'm hoping to cook all the dead bugs off my windshield when ever i do those long drives especially when i am doing the night drives. i doubt it will reach 175 when it hits the windshield but i do believe it will be up in the hundreds around atleast 130 which is still pretty hot so.

That would be my concern. Especially if there was one of those beautiful star dings from a rock. But the water probably cools alot when it sprays.
