I'm planning on buying a wing for my truck for towing the 36ft 5th wheel. I've decided on the Wingmaster with the plate mounting system - my dad has one and it works pretty well. He says he gets +1-2mpg with it. He's my best data point since I know how he drives and how the truck is set up:)



My question is this:

Does anybody have any experience with the new Aerotravel 3 (w/larger endplates to reduce spillover)? Anybody switched from the Aerotravel 1 (standard) to the Aerotravel 3? I tow with a 2500 4wd so my trailer is way the heck up there and any benefit would be appreciated.

I looked at the Taylor version and spoke with them about the mounting for the frame. I just prefer the Wingmaster/Aerotravel set-up. My dad has one on his '96 (my old truck) and the plate mount system works pretty good.

If you are towing a high profile 5th why would you opt for a wing developed for a low profile horse trailer ??????:confused:



You will spend all the money and only get half the pickle ;)

Now I'm confused. Are you saying the Wingmaster Aerotravel 1 was developed for a lo-pro gooseneck horse trailer?



If so, how is the Taylor any different from the Wingmaster?

I went ot the wingmaster site www.wingmaster.com , in the rv section, and they have all the details on the aerotravel 1 and 3.



Taylor www.taylorwings.com , has 2 size wings also: std and oversize.

std for up to nominally 10ft and the oversize for the tall trailers.
