I am really suprised at the replies on this post. I have a 96 with auto trans. All stock. I don't do any towing. I put a cold front on and changed to the new design thermostat. The temps don't seem to have changed much. Always running on the cool side. I leave the front on almost year round. When it gets above 90, I take it off as the guage reads 190+.

Cam. I have a vinyl cover that I got at a local truck parts store fits good looks good Mopar also makes one. About 80 dollars.

I had the plastic inserts they work ok but I found that the clips bent or broke off after 1 or 2 winters.

I have towed my thirty foot fithwheel camper with the vinyl cover on even down into FL forgot to take it off. but cooling temp never got above 200.

BUT I WOULDN'T DO THAT VERY OFTEN!

I now have the Espar heater installed in my truck and I really don't need the Gettmann winter front that I bought and used for the past three winters. This is really a good investment for anyone who's in it for the long haul with their truck that lives in the colder climates.

Not to repeat myself, here is the link to what I just created for my RAM: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum17/HTML/001119.html

I have an ESPAR but don't like the fact that the cab heater airflow was cooling down after I started the truck. I am hoping that blocking most of the radiator will minimize that, along with the other benefits I have already noted in my other posting.

I made my cover, got me some skin from that nogahid animal and made me a squre piece. Sewed some tabs on to fit over the hood stops, it hangs between the raditor and the A/C coil. Cut an 8" hole in the middle. Works great and fold up for under seat storage when the weather is warm. Total cost 5. 00 and 1 hour of me trying to sew.

CAM, I just ordered and received one from Mary Ann Gettmann for $35. I took some pictures of it, and if your interested, email me and I'll send them to you. I don't know how to put them on this website, so you'll have to email as I know how to make attachments.
