On heavy trucks I have driven They had grill louvers that opened and closed bye temp. Why cant someone make these for our trucks? Even electric switch or manual cable would be fine. They could be stainless, chrome, or painted.

I have a winter front cover. Mine is a heavy vinyl type material with hooks and hook and loop attachments points. With a diamond shape cover that is split in 4 pieces to allow you to open and close off different areas as needed. This is attached in front of the cooling system but behind the grill. You need to open the hood and then attach the cover with the hood/grill area closed you will not notice the cover. This is similar to some of the class 8 trucks but is a manual operated instead of mechanical, s you had asked for.

I do not know if anyone would pay for the added cost of a mechanical operated winter front cover.

Mine was purchased from a on-line Mopar dealer in Jan of 08.

If you want a winter front go to

Winter Fronts from Alaska Tent and Tarp

write them or give them a call. Specify your year and truck and that you want the inside mounted cover. You will have to get someone where you are at to put on the snaps on your(I forgot what that beam infront of the top of the radiator is). The fronts have a zipper in them so you can open them as much or close them depending on what your temps are. I have to take mine off entirely when it hits about 10 above or I overheat. If you don't get that cold, they can make you one with a bigger zipper for a bigger opening or maybe more than one zipper. Just let them know. I wouldn't have any thing else and I've used alot of different things.
