How far is it from the Cities?

Josh

No fishing no hot buttered rum!

A little over 4 hours from Ramsey if you drive hard and don't (get) stop on the way. I'd offer a place to crash Friday night, but Scott already has the guest quarters.

I will be there friday evening. ! Its easier for me to go the night before so I dont have to get up so early and drive. . I will be drinking A few brews Friday night , if you want to meet at A bar or something give me A ring... 218-780-9464 Casey

Will see you up there.

I think warmer weather is on the way.

No changes (powerwise) here is I will watch all you guys make smoke. Might take a truck up the road or two.

I bring a camera to take lots of digitals.

Smokin is right. :D But might being adding some clutch smoke though. :( I think me and mike will be talking about South Bend clutches. :D Hope to get that done this spring.

Called over to Mike's today to see if anything was left. Talked to Dale and there will be a lot of new things for people to touch & feel.

Well, for those able, I'm thinking we could meet at the Blue Moose in East Grand Forks Friday evening for a chance to sit down. I need to find out what time SMorneau is rolling in first. How about you, Jeff?

Well, I've got to pass on Friday night. I need to get a couple of chores and errands completed before Saturday morning.

I do recommend the "Moose" for others that are in the area. They even serve a black & tan.

Well Turbo Tweeker and I... Possibly diesel tim will be comming up, via the Redneck express sat morning. I've been told by a guy I work with 3:15 to Fargo. How far is Northwood from Fargo? From what I saw it was 29 out of fargo to a county road?

Josh

Let's see

Larry, Wayne, Josh, & Casey hit the rollers. I'll have to get the numbers and details and post on website.

Oh man did Mike and Scott have some new stuff to show.

Pistons, rods, ported heads & manifolds, clutches, turbos, and a PDR cam.

The pulling tractor is slowing taking shape. Once that 95 project truck is done, the puller engines should be going together.

Per Josh's request

Hot Buttered Rum Batter

1 # powdered sugar (~3½ cups)

1 # brown sugar (~2¼ cups firm pack)

1 qt vanilla ice cream (don't go too cheap) butter soft

¾ # butter

1 tsp. nutmeg

1 Tbsp cinnamon

Mix sugars & spices completely.

Cut in butter and mix well.

Add ice cream and mix well.

Store in freezer.

Use batter, rum, and hot water to taste. Start with big tablespoon of batter per cup.

I prefer a bit more batter, Scott prefers a bit more rum... ...

What happened to my post here? I posted Saturday at around 4 a. m. I just wanted to let you guys I couldn't make it to the meet.

Well anyway hope it was a good time.

I intend to get a clutch installed late this spring. Mabe see you guys then.

Well I had A great time . . Hope everyone else did too. . Next time I will run all the number one fuel out of my truck before I get there. . That was A mistake that was bothering me . . It was 20 below this morning , and I knew it was going to be cold . . Hopefuly, I wont have to worry about gelling up today anyway. . Cant wait to go to the next event , I will be watching to see when the next one is. . :)

I'm in the same boat Casey. I had mixed fuel in mine when I dyno'ed too. Between that and my converter slipping I was far less than I thought I should have been. Other than that, I had a great time. John's Hot Buttered Rum drinks were excellent! I would have loved to sit and have a few more, but driving back under the influence wouldn't have been good. As it was I had to get back in kind of a hurry anyway. Thanx again to Mike and Scott and crew at Mikes Custom Trucks. They did a great job and had some VERY cool items to look at.

Josh

There was lots of cool stuff to look at and it was great to see everyone. I can't wait to hear how the 12v comes out when Mike and Scott are done.

Josh, you drive too fast for me buddy. Norm and I are about the same speed. Casey has some pictures of the 370 pistons if anyone want him to post them. They look pretty trick.

Thanks to Mike and Scott for having stuff out for us to ogle.

Had a great time (again). It sure got cold during the day. Was 24' above when I left about 6am and when I got home at 9:30 pm it was -10'. I had straight #2 in when I left but with almost 500 mile round trip I just stopped on the way home and filled up with #1 in Bemidji.

Was quite pleased with 196hp and 516ftlbs out of the beater. Numbers aren't that far off what the dually was in stock form. I'm thinkin' of holding up a few liquor stores so I can get some more power and still be able to eat.

Later,

Wayne

lol Yeah Wayne , I also would choose A liquor store over an Iron Range bank any day!!!!! Cause thats where the real money is...

I normally just do about 5 over... but I had a hot date call once we got within Cell range again..... So the need for speed took over! 29 was a 75 zone ya know... ...

Josh

cell phones

The valley has lots of dead zones for cell service. Not enough people to justify the tower costs.

I-29 is 75 and even ND-23 is a 65 road. Took a cool 90 minutes including a stop at grocery store in GF to get home.

I'm looking at having a work party in February or March

Let me know your preferred dates and ones to avoid.

Jeff

You got hit by the database crash. Sorry we missed you. You could have drooled over the stack of South Bend clutches in the lunchroom, too.

Thanks for the great time on sat. mike. It was great to see all the diffrent part on the bench and the clutch and the head being o-ringed. I look forward to seeing that tractor runn this summer, it should throw a nice cloud. John thanks for lunch, it was most filling. I look forward to going to muncie with you guys in june.

Andy

Party gets better everytime.

Nice to see the familiar faces and meet you new ones. It seems to get better everytime at Mike's.

He is really getting into the engine hardware now and should have some nice experince when any of us need to join the extreme power crowd.

Sorry for he cold weather. Makes it alittle harder to dyno when you truck is setting out in -5.

Seems like the fall gatherings are always nice weather which makes it alittle funner checking out trucks and toys. We might want to keep September - October in mind for a nest get together.

If anyone wants the movies from the dyno runs PM me with our email address and I will send one or all. The files range from 5 - 9 meg so you better have high speed. I believe I have one of every run.

I will send Mike (Alaska bound) all of them and mail a disk to Shawn.

Have fun in AK Mike!

Hey guys, sounds like everyone had a pretty good time. I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of the day. I wonder what caused the low torque numbers respective to the horsepower produced on dad's pickup? Could wheel slippage cause something along those lines? Anyhow, thanks in advance for sending the disc Jerry. Talk to you guys later.
