Great Product

Eric,

I purchased a set last year and I love them. They really fit good and look great too. Starting to get cooler here now and will be putting them back on real soon.

I highly recommend them if you are thinking about getting a set!:D :D

Thanks again,

Sparky (Scott)

When the outside temps turn chilly, I can barely get the engine coolant gauge into the normal range, and the transmission temp gauge doesn't move until I'm in heavy traffic.

With them I get quicker warm-ups, and better operating temps for increased efficiency, and better lubrication.

And Wifey gets warm toes, ... . and off my back. ;)

Hmm I would think that the engine would produce enough heat to make you toasty even in the winter. Seems like if the engine was too cold the thermostat would close to keep your engine in the operating range.

It helps with quicker warm-ups but with the "Over-Kill" size of the radiator (designed to cool the engine crossing the Sahara Desert while pulling a gazillion pound trailer) in the cooler temps 'ya gotta block the airflow a little to help out.

Watch the Semis in the winter, they cover that massive radiator too. ;)

To you guys in Texas and such, 40* is a cold temp. ;)

Well sometimes we do get down to the low 20's. But usually low 30's. Texas has all types of weather you just have to wait a few minutes for it to change. Except I've never seen snow in Dallas just ice, ice, and more ice. I like ice, it means we can't go to work b/c Texans can't drive on ice like the northern boys. LOL

As far as the weather, we get more ice storms than snow too.

As far as the drivers:confused: , the morons here don't do any better in the slippery stuff than they do down there. :-laf

(maybe that's 'cuz half of them come from down there)

Shovel...

Thanks for the feedback on how you like the guards.

I have the top 2 on right now, but that might change in a couple weeks. Gets down to 0 deg or lower if you go up in the mountains. Right now with 50 deg, and 2 panels on, it takes 10 miles for it to get to 190. If it wasn't so warm during the day, I'd put the other 2 on for faster warmups.

here is another trick to warm up faster, When you start your truck in the morning, plug in your heater cord while the engine is running. 3 min. and 1 min down the road, you will have heat in the cab. a little, but some more than none... .

Eric, right now our night time lows are low to mid 50s, daytime highs high 60s to mid 70s.

I'm running all 4 covers and staying at 180* and transmission temps around 160*.

The Cummins is happy, the transmission is happy, Wifey is happy, and I'm :D :D :D

Thanks.

Only gettin to the mid 60's for a high now. 35 overnight

Made some more guards so E-mail me if interested

See a better pic in the Readers Rigs under the New truck pics album.

They also help hold in engine heat when the truck is sitting in the parking lot with engine off while I'm in the office for 9 hours.

It's about time to put mine back on here in NW Arkansas.

It is almost time here in New England to install the winter guards especially since i will be parking in an area with no access to an outlet to plug in for the next few months.

Eric,

I put your winter guards on my truck and my horsepower jumped from 650 to 723 and the torque jumped from 916 to 1105. Additionally my fuel mileage jumped fom a measley 16mpg to 23. 6 mpg all while cruising at 85 mph through the rocky mountains with a 15,000 38 foot fiver. This is way better than any other mod I have made to date. Women also seem to be coming on to me more and maybe it's my imagination but I think my hair is getting thicker too!

Seriously, I placed your grill guards onto the grill by hand and they look like they fit perfectly. I will put them on as soon as I get some extra time. Thanks again.

P. S. I was going to paint the grill guard bolts gold to match my gold front tooth. This way the women would notice me even more. What do you think?

Got down to 25 deg last night, the kids were trick or treating by Carpool!

This sure helps get the engine temps up faster.

Anymore responses from satisfied buyers?

Anyone getting or have a '03 2500 that could make a template for the winterguards?
