Cool video - Japanese sword vs .50 cal!

Played in our first 2005 softball tournament yesterday and it was sooooooo cold we had to wear long pants. Overcast and mid-50's all day... ... . :-laf

Oh, I forgot, some of you non-desert folks can't even see the softball fields due to that ucky white stuff... ..... :-laf

Say what ya want about the summer heat, at least we don't have to shovel !! and we can "play ball" year 'round !

from what i heard on the news last night, las vegas and some areas DID have to shovel some white stuff.

50 is cold???!!! i would probably be out in a t-shirt if it was 50.

so much for global warming.

who won the game?

Up here in Minnesnowda... . we play in domes. I played last winter on a league..... it was rather interesting... . if the ball hit something in the air... . it was in play. Fair Ball! Center field corner was 475 feet... so your center fielder better not miss... . or the ball will roll on that astro turf to the corner..... right field... . an easy 250.

whoever said "it doesn't matter if you win or lose, but how you play the game" wasn't too serious about softball. we didn't play well and got to come home sooner than expected.

what's really neat is that I just turned 55 and the kids (20-40) want gramps around. My 27 year old son is on the team also. I play first and bat low in the order but still contributing. I've played since church ball as a pre-teen. We play tournament ball about once a month all year round.

We don't have any leagues this time of year, but we still play year round. I try to get the team together a couple times over the winter to practice. It was 70 and sunny yesterday, but I didn't make it out to the field.
