Competition Dragon flow injectors

Competition How do you guys keep frt axles together?

So I have been out of town (Wake Island) for 4 months and have not been able to get all the crap about what has been going on. What everyone working on? What old records are going to fall this upcoming Drag racing season? How many Fords does it take to go 1/4 mile?

I know these are hard hitting questions but Im shure I will get some interesting feed back.

So at the last open track day up here I ticked off a 12. 80@113, but something's fishy.

I got no smoke, not even a puff...

The engine is quiet, like church mouse quiet, no clatter, nothing...

Got 24mpg to & from the track on I-29...

21 pounds of boost, that's it...

Maybe when the track opens again next April I'll try to launch at something other than idle & see what she'll do. :)

What were you doing in Wake Island? Been there twice while in the military.

Pretty quiet out here, and the snow in Colorado is piling up. Time to stir it up. My predictions for 2006 in the tube frame cars:

Greg (Comp) will be out with the new engine, and he will better his number, but maybe not before Keating and crew do. This should be the tightest race of all. Should be fun to watch.

The Edge Wolverine will appear out on the track and surprise everyone. In a good way. They are overdue.

I do expect a Duramax fast car to show up, and maybe kick everyone around. But not for long. Once they do, everyone will step up their game.

The long awaited Powerstroke will appear, and do good. But not great. Tough engine to make big HP with.

The Scheid dragster will get into the 7's, and a 160+ MPH, and we will hit 7. 7 or better with a 175. Who will first? Time will tell.

Anyone elses' predictions?

I agree its going to be a fun season , everyone is looking to be on top, and I can say its been fun being here , I believe that Scott and Dustin will get deeper in the 7 sevens as soon as the get more track time.

Schieds dragster will get faster , but like the Edge truck , it needs to go on a serious diet . Schieds dragster can get there from here , but the Wolverine is going to always be very overweight . Nothing can change the way it was built, but new pipe. Can you over come a weight issue , with big power , sure you can, but with big power and big weight comes a big parts breakage bill, and serious bad track manors.

I see Dustin and myself competing in more NHRA events , and with NHRA’s acceptance of Diesel fuel in Top Sportsman and Top Dragster , I see a big push for those ready to jump in to the ground swell that will insure when the average Pickup driving guy and gals are at the track and watches a Diesel truck or Dragster compete with 7 second race cars, laying a tell tail trail of smoke down the track.

Much as the Harley guys are now attending NHRA races in droves because of NHRA’s forethought to let the under dog V twins compete with the less popular but fast rice burners .

When I will get the time and the money to finish the dragster that is sitting in the shop , begging for a worthy power plant . I walk by it every day I’m there and look at one more way to make it go faster. It is a proven thoroughbred , and has a history of winning, in A/ED equipped with a Chevy DuraMax it will once again claims its spot at the top

Now to sanction body’s,,, as this grows and it will, they will benefit from the money that is starting to pour over in to diesel racing . the key is to make stable rules and to not change them when some one runs too fast or dominates a class, be patient and know that the rest of the pack will get educated and catch up.

Meddling in the rules to slow one competitor down only makes an innovator in to a non participant. Example Water /methanol in Pro Street in Houston

All in all I’m glad that I have some one getting close to my record. Because it opened up the money for me to do what I have wanted to do for two years , but was stifled because of lack of funding.

I truly wish that I had more people of the caliber of Keaton Machine to run against , Fletcher Will be out soon, and he and I will go head to head , and bring out the best in match racing.

Finish TIG welding the cage into a customer's "new" single cab SHORT bed back half 4 link cummins powered "street" truck.

There are a few of these being built that I am aware of.

Finish a production run of Titanium 40 spline full spools for a Dana 70 and 80.

These things are ridiculously light and strong.

No worries of a locker not being locked and you being launched into a wall on a good launch.

Figuring out how to fit this new BIG charger from II without mounting the chargers parrallel to each other. This charger is bigger than a Big Brother by a fair amount. We've got a set mocked up and the look awesome with these two very large chargers sitting on top of each other. Now we're looking for another way to package them so as to make installs a little easier without so many other changes.

A few more, but thats enough for now.

I posted pictures of the Chevy 2 Ton Toter getting the ISL400 repower out under conversions. That is keeping me busy.

In addition, wheel spacers for the dragster in order to get some dyno time. Should look funny. The car needs 20" more wheel width in order to be fully on the ATS dyno.

Damn Lucky if it ever gets done. There is one customer looking to step in front of him. He's got some severely fly-cut pistons and a big a** cam he wants me to stick in his little green single cab ;)

Wes... ... ... ... ... That's sounds like some of these Georgia boys.

We are starting a new class here called the FTRL. Farm Truck Racing League. Any modification to the engine you want to make. No spray of any kind and ONE turbo. Any turbo you want to run, with any mods, but only one. 4X4, 2 wheel, anything with a diesel. Oh, and one more thing, 6,000 lbs. I guess I'll add about 10 bails of hay, just to look farmy, and be legal.

We're being told the DuraMax is going to hand us our lunch. We'll see. They will be in the front, but how long, I just don't know.

As of now we have about 14 trucks, including a 94 I'm building. We will be running at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds, Ga, Commerce, and I hope Steele, Ala.

All brands have said they will run. This is gonna be a blast.

C'y'all

Preston,

I'm going to put a hydraulic hay spear on the back of the single/short so we can go pick-up one of those nice "little" (1750lb) round bales out of my back pasture.

That way I'll more than make weight, have plenty of that "farmy" look, and sure as heck have enough weight to hook up.

Wes

Fishing/Diving/worked on some JP-5 tanks. 3. 5 months of that place really sucks. We did get to do a little drag racing on the air strip. I had a 05 3500 bubble butt 2wd and there were a few ford trucks/vans.

The dodge got its but kicked by a 06 ford F-550 with 5. 36 gears.

All running on JP-5.

Since I have been home I am Looking for a good clutch. And installed some bigger injectors.

There ya go progress..... #ad
Good job!

Got my 8 3/4 rear axle housing braced, smoothed the housing (Rust pits#ad
) painted housing black, cleaned and glass beaded center section, painted center section cast iron, disassembled and rebuilt differential unit, installed 3. 73 gearing, got the ProStreet Wilwood rear disc kit-( really sweet looking vented, drilled and slotted rotors#ad
and a parking brake assembly to boot!) - I'm being held up on the axles and billet pinion yoke... . thinking of ordering a set of Dutchman axles now -due to Strange and unfortunate delay #ad
:{ ...

Have the 727 trans all rebuilt and ready, And since I like to save my old parts- when I changed my trans pan on Duallie -I saved the stock one and am now using it on this trans for my Fury! Lol ! It's like a double deep for a car! I had to modify the pan slightly to clear the parking mechanism though otherwise it was a perfect fit! ( Older pushbutton 727's have a different case than the 66' up 727's) All I have to do is pick up and go through the 2 spd. overdrive unit and mate them together and be done there... .

Got my tubular upper control arms and front suspension rebuild kit and road race torsion bars and am planning to swap that deal in this coming Saturday only a couple of hours of wrenching there ( I've been through quite a few mopar front suspensions in my time#ad
, seems like old hat to me at this point. )

But yeah PROGRESS through the winter doldrums! It's great to go in the garage pour some ol #2 fuel in the heater and fire it up and even though I am working on a gasser at the time being I am still burning good ol #2- :-laf makes me look at the diesel project and :{ - but I know that it will eventually be pulled forward to the front and garner my attention til completion, and i can't wait!#ad

So lets hear how the progress is going for you guys out there in the garage while the temps are frosting the windows and the snow is falling... ... . #ad

My old truck ain't doing so hot. Changed a stock 94 with a few parts and timing and only got 377 on the dyno. To get it done in our FTRL next year, I gotta get up to 500. These DuraM's around here are at 525 on motor. I don't think the problem is gettin there, it's paying for it. Changed a few more things and think I may be at 410 or so. No spray in our class. Gotta do it on motor and one turbo. Trying to do everything in frame. Don't want to pull it.

Me and Jeff will get , if he'll pay for it. :{
