Mopar transmission pump debate

The pump in the automatic is definitely running whenever the engine is turning. That is not the real issue. The issue is that the fluid is ROUTED or CIRCULATED differently in park or neutral. I am not an auto transmission expert but know first hand that checking fluid level in neutral or park is not the same. With my previous truck (93 D350) I had problems when cold with slipping, not wanting to get going when put in drive or reverse and I kept checking the level in park. It was always ok, but when I got "tipped off" to check in neutral instead, it was low by several pints from what I remember. At any case, once it was filled according to the level in neutral, all my problems went away. From what I understand, the fluid is not circulated thru the converter in park. The pump is definitely always running when the engine is and fluid is always circulating, but the fluid circulates differently in the different positions.

For what it is worth, that is one of the things that my ATS valve body changed.
 
Its MARKED on the stick to check HOT in neutral. WAS ON MY 93. IS on my 98 etc. I agree the converter is turning and the pump is pumping but it don't put NO fluid to the seals etc. G. M and Ford and others it does. But not a Chrysler built trans.
