Are you looking for the whole blade or just the rubber inserts? I always replace the rubber insert with Bosch which is a cut to length. If it is the blade that you are looking for and you think that your '96 uses the same as my '01, I could go to the garage and measure them... I'm home with sick kids today.

I was considering a set of heated wiper blades if they had my size on closeout. At 20" or even 19", they don't, but I thank you guys for the answers! We're having an ice storm today and heated wiper blades are something I have long wanted on both my plow truck and my semi. Heated mirrors are worth their weight in gold in these conditions; heated wipers would be, too, if they worked well.

You must have teeny tiny windshield wipers. The ones on my 02 are 23-1/2 inches. I have a new one in the garage still in the box. It is a Trico 24-1 (Windshield wipers must be like 2x4's which are really 1-1/2 x 3-1/2's)

I've been using 24" on all my gen 2s since 97. Fits real good and clears a lot more windshield. The 19 & 20 inchers made me feel I was driving a chopped top 40 Merc in comparison.

The problem with getting body parts for an 02 is that the parts house reference assumes you have a 3rd gen 1500. I went through this a few months ago and they kept trying to sell me blades that were too long. Ask for 01 blades.

Somewhere along the line I grabbed 24" blades by mistake. I figured it out when I bought another set that were the spec'd 20" and they looked so tiny. The 24s fit just fine, so I took the 20s back and stuck with the bigger blades.

Well, my 02 came with the 24" wipers as stock. I would be very surprised if any of the 2nd gen wipers were smaller than that. The 24 inch fits both sides. The O'reilies (use to be Shucks) here in Bothell has the correct part numbers in their computer. If your parts house doesnt, they should be able to cross ref to the Trico 24-1.

I am truly surprised at the can of worms a simple wiper size question has opened. It really is interesting how much variation there is between what fits, what is called for, and what everybody uses.

Personally, I'm with the 'bigger is better' crowd here. I want maximum visibility. Guess I'm going to have to measure and try the 24 inchers if mine are smaller. If they fit, then I'll find some heated ones in that size.

I'm going to make a Winter Warrior out of this truck yet... Next up: a hydronic heater system...
