wiper delay malfunction

Lately my wiper delay feature is not working but has instead just stayed on in all positions. Leading up to this the wipers often times would make 2,3 or sometimes 4 swipes before stopping. Anybody else had problems with this feature?

The delay still works but the number of swipes is occasionally 1. Sometimes 2 or 3. I assumed that there must be some corrosion in the park switch on the motor. This opinion being based on experience with wiper motors on much older vehicles.

The delay function is part of the multi function switch, mine was changed twice when truck was fairly new. It is located in the steering column and there are some write ups on here about how to get to it. Do a search for "multi function switch". bg

My '06 did the same thing. Eventually it wouldn't park correctly at all. I took out the wiper motor, dissassembled the contact housing, cleaned out all the grease, and using a scouring pad, cleaned up the contacts, added new synthetic grease and it now works like new, all speeds, delay, etc. I followed suggestions taken from the TDR. It really is quite simple to repair.

Mine was neither the multifunction switch nor the park switch, on the 04. 5 the Integrated Power Module is susceptible to corrosion on C3 and C4 ...

My 2004. 5 is doing the same thing. Makes me nervious on a long trip
