1999, all of a sudden my wiper fuse blew. Put new ones in, they blow instantly. I pulled the relay for the wiper to rule out the motor causing the short, but it still blows. I took the steering wheel harness off and looked at the wires, and they looked ok. Does anyone know the exact colors for the wiper? Also, any ideaS? Thanks

Also, by disconnecting the wiper relay, does this disconnect the wiring to the motor? Thanks

Pulling the relay doesn't disconnect all wiring to the motor.

From the switch:

Wiper Switch to Wiper Motor:

BR/WH is for non intermittent operation

Wiper Switch to Relay (controls intermittent operation):

RD/BL

Wiper Switch to Integrated Electronic Module:

WT/DB

VT

BR (washer motor)

From the fuse:

DB goes to the wiper motor Park Switch

DB goes to the relay

Unplug the underhood connector to the motor. That will help eliminate whether it is the motor or other wiring.

Hopefully, it's not in the steering column.

If you have an ohm meter, you can check the above wires when you disconnect the harness to see which one is going to ground. Make sure you have the power off when you do this or you'll pop the fuse in the meter.

Dealer says it is the wiper control module. Aound $100 + installation. Already have 1. 5 hours in diagnosis of problem. Is this an easy fix if I purchase the module from somewhere else and put it in myself? Or is this something I should let them do. Thanks
