Had an issue when the Espar was running low on fuel so I shut it off, a few days of cold passed & I decided to take the truck to town. Fired it off cleaned snow off the windows let it run for awhile. got in it to go hit the wiper & washer NOTHING!!

took it into town and tried the wipers along the way THEY WORKED!!

are the wipers SOMEHOW controlled by voltage, running temp? Or is this the first sign of pending trouble :{ This is the first time that I can remember not having the heater running.

Welcome to the world of 3rd gen electronics. I know that I sound like a broken record on this forum, but I've had my fill of Power Distribution Center problems on the '04.5 and TIPM issues with the '07. Chances are that your wiper issue will be intermittent for a while and then be followed by various lighting issues, especially when it is damp out. The PDC on our '04.5 started in that way before it finally failed.

Unfortunately the weather here in NW Montana has been a mess. Instead of nice cold temperature and snow on the ground, the last two weeks have seen days in the 20's alternating with days as high as 45. Things are melting and freezing. Snow, then rain, then snow. Making it worse night time temperature have still been in the low 20's and then a band of warm temperature and rain will go through in the middle of the night coating everything with freezing rain. Had a nice 1/4" layer of ice on top of the 4 inches of cold snow we got overnight.

I'll assume the op knows about lifting his wipers from the windshield, when leaving a vehicle outside in this type of weather, so I'd suspect that the issue is the wiper linkage under the cowl. The passenger side end of the linkage is exposed under the vents in the cowl. I would bet money on it being coated with ice, that then melted, vs. it being an electrical issue. Remove the cowl and lubricate linkage with a silicone spray or Fluid Film. While the cowl is off I'd also make sure the drains for that area aren't plugged. Living on a gravel road here, the dust becomes hard dry mud in the most amazing places.

A heated garage with a floor drain is really nice :)

I cover the windshield & wipers with a cover not that this would stop the freezing of the linkage which by the way I did spray down with some kind of stuff the wrenches at work said if this is the cause of the problem will prevent. Time will tell we'er expecting low temps and snow tonight. Funny it never happened in Montana in the 5 winters.
