2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wipers stopped workin

Guys, my wipers stopped working last night what should i look for. I turned them on by accident and sounded awful when they were moving, then they stopped in the up position. Tried moving them down but thay are not moving. Thought there was ice stopping them but the path is clear, could there be ice underneath the cowl where the wiper motor is. How hard is it getting to it, i am away for the weekend so have no wipiers right know.

Access to the wiper motor/linkage assembly is easy. Remove the rubber trim where the hood meets the cowl. Then remove the plastic trim "bolts" (hex head insert on an 1 1/2" head) on the plastic cowl cover. I went through one winter of intermittant wipers. They were fine in the warmer months. The following winter I replaced the assembly. Dealer paid, I installed. It took about 30 minutes start to finish, including clean up. I think the list price was about $350.

The wiper module is easy to access with FDNYMOPARGUY's instructions. If it's not fixable, the wiper module (includes motor) lists for way less than $350.
