2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Wire extensions for gauges

I am in the process of installing a set of Isspro gauges in the 01. 5. I need more length from the sender to the control box on both the EGT and trans temp gauges. Would it be a problem to add an extension of automotive wire? I will use the same gage or heavier wire and solder the connections.



Any information will be appreciated.

On my autometer pyrometer it said specifically NOT to alter the length of the probe wires. It will probably hurt accuracy of the guages if you do this. I would call the factory direct to get answers.

Talk to Isspro. On pusher motor homes the pyro wire runs almost 30 feet from engine to cab with no problem. Let us know what you find out.

If I remember right, the install directions for my gauge said the egt. gauges are calibrated for a given length of wire.
