My Fuel sending unit is really starting to drive me crazy,

It's the constant warning chimes every 30 sec. that's getting to me. I crawled under the truck and was going to unplug the wires

going to the sending unit but could not figure out how to seperate the connection. I'am to the point where am ready to just cut the wires and fix them when I have time to replace the sending unit. There are 4 wire involved, if anyone could tell which

wire goes to the chime mod or how to seperate the connection I would be very grateful. Jim

I recently installed a transfer flow aux tank, and if I remember correctly the wire that goes to the guage in a Grey with Blue stripe.

I found that it was easier to get to the wire just forward of the splice for the trailer light wireing harness onlong the drivers side frame rail just forward of the seperation from the cab and bed.

When you cut this one the guage will show empty and the low fuel light will be on, but the alarm should only sound once when you start the truck up.

May not be the answer you were looking for, but its a start.

WD

there is a red tab on the socket . Slide the red tab out about half way, mash down on the tab for the clip and the socket will come apart. The red tad acts like a lock to keep the socket from open.

Of the 4 wires connected at the tank, 2 are for the sending unit. The other 2 dead-end at the connector.

Does anyone know if the other 2 are for a fuel pump (gas jobs)? and the color codes?

thanks
