Wiring a Non-Towing Pkg 24v?

For those of yall that elected not to check off the factory towing package option, for whatever reason...

I elected not to because I wanted DrawTite's Class V monster.

My question is this, those that have resorted to non-oem trailer wiring, have you later discovered a need for a HEAVY DUTY FLASHER (electronic/or/thermal?). The factory literature makes no mention of an HD Flasher in the towing pkg, so I don't think DC installs a beefier one in Rams equipt with the Tow Package.

Actually,DC already puts the HD flasher in all the trucks... it makes no difference if it was a factory tow pkg or not. Two out of the three Dodges' that I've had didn't come with tow pkgs,so when I added the Mopar trailer pkg,I checked the flashers to make sure.

My truck came with the tow package and a regular flasher. The heavy duty flasher was in the glove box with a note saying to use the HD flasher for towing. It cautioned the user that the flasher would still work with a turn signal bulb burned out and to be sure and check the bulbs when using the HD flasher.

Max- my truck doesn't have the towing or camper pkg's. I used a Hoppy Lite-Mate kit for the wiring and the flashers work @ the normal speed. Either a heavy-duty flasher is factory-installed or else one isn't needed. BTW, where in Texas (besides J. U. M. A. - hope that doesn't mean what I THINK it does :eek #ad
