Someone guide me straight here , I need the female wire connector on the bumper but also want one in the bed of the truck for the 5er I hope to get some day, so what is the best way to accomplish this, I dont want to cut any wires but prefer to do some kind of a pre made connector. Kevin

I have both, and unless there is something I don't know of, your only choice is to splice wires (I used the 3m piercing connectors) for the bed mounted one. I also ran a seperate 4 wire connector for use with the seperate turn signal inidicators. If you need the color code, e-mail me I can get it to. :)

Wiring

Rhere is a way, I went to local RV dealer and bought about 7' of the 7 wire coaxial trailer cable, a male 7 pin connector and a female 7 pin receptacle, mounted the female behind the wheel well in the left side of bed run the wire down through a hole in the side of the rear stake pocket to the factory installed female conn. area, tied it off with a large ty-wrap. When I pull the 5th wheel I just plug the connector into the factory installed connector and plug the trailer into the female conn. in the bed, much easier to reach. Of course, if I'm pulling the boat trailer or utility trailer, I unplug the conn. from the factory installed conn. and let it hang free. Works for me. bg

I made an extension ,plug it in the bumper and run it up in the bed. If you need the one in the bumper just unplug it.

You have to run your wire before you put any plugs on it.

The hole in the left rear of the bed ( behind taillight) make

a good spot to get in the bed.

Have a good one

hey guys , thanks for the input, I was in town with the lil woman today at wolly world and I found a trailer wiring kit for all dodge pickups, you unplug your tail light deal and it fits in-between there, do this on both sides and then you have a 4 wire connection to go to the back with to wire up to the female 7 pole slide connector.

I moved the connector from the back up to the side wall of the inside bed, it was a bit of a job, I took my spare down and moved all the wiring to accomidate the length of the wire and it came out great. The reason I did this is so I would have trailer brake too. The one on the rear has right, left, run lites and ground, thats fine with me as I only pull small stuff from the receiver. Kevin
